Seti I temple Luxor Egypt

Bringing Egyptology to Cheshire for 30 years

We are a group based in the north-west of England, who meet monthly to hear lectures about Ancient Egypt

We meet on the fourth Friday of the month at Poynton Civic Hall (off Park Lane), Poynton, Cheshire. The meetings begin at 8.00 pm, and the doors are open from 7.30 pm onwards. Here you can meet and chat with other members before the meeting begins in an informal setting.

Our schedule runs from September to June with no meetings in December, July or August.

We arrange a dynamic and interesting set of talks each month often with well known speakers. However, we also like to listen to budding Egyptologists. Our talks are informative and inspiring, delivered in a relaxed setting.

We would be pleased to see anyone at our meetings, as they are set up to appeal to those new to the subject and those who have had a keen interest for years.

September 2024 marks a new season

Our next talk is on Friday 28th March 2025

Sandra Whittleston

The title is “Yesterday’s tracks covered by tomorrow’s winds: exploring the key sites of the Western Desert”

We provide the usual refreshments

A completed new programme is now available

We apologise for lack of information about our February meeting, the speaker was unavailable at the last minute. We thank Bryony Renshaw, senior curator at Silk Museum Macclesfield for stepping in.
